Community Service
Community service has been a huge part of my upbringing. Through community service, I am left with a feeling of immense gratitude. I hope to continue working with my community as well as others all around the world!
Once a week, I make about 20-30 lunches for the unhoused in Denver. I plan on continuing this indefinitely.
Community service played a big role this past summer, from serving at the Ronald McDonald Houses and playing with the pets at the local shelters.
I love volunteering for school events! One of these events was the “All Stars Prom,” where a dance/carnival was thrown for people with disabilities. I accompanied a boy as his “date,” which was a lot of fun.
Volunteering at my mother’s church provides me with opportunities to help out during festivals, speaking events, etc.
Costa Rica
Costa Rica- is a place full of beautiful landscapes and endless beaches, yet it also has a dark side: human trafficking. This spring, I was selected for team Costa Rica, where our team will explore human trafficking and the lives that have been affected by this heartbreaking issue. By working with several ministries and safe houses, I will hear victims’ stories and how they have managed to re-establish their lives with the power of hope.
This trip takes place in mid-March, so I have not gone yet. As soon as I do, I will upload photos and talk about my experience!
